Jonathan Walsh is a partner with the firm and a member of the Civil Litigation Department. His practice centers around the defense of merchant liability and negligent security claims on behalf of retailers and hotel/motel operators. His experience includes developing a national coordinating counsel program for a national retailer. He currently serves as that client's national coordinating counsel for high value personal injury claims.

Mr. Walsh is a 1998 graduate of the Tulane University School of Law, with a certificate from the Maritime Law Center. In 1996, he served as the Tulane Summer Intern at the Center for Seafarer's Rights, in New York City, where he provided pro bono legal assistance to seafarers from around the world on issues ranging from unpaid maintenance and cure, repatriation and the application of international conventions.

Mr. Walsh graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1994 and obtained his Master of Arts degree in French Literature there in 1995. He was awarded a University of Notre Dame teaching fellowship and taught beginning and advanced-intermediate French during the academic year 1994-95. From 1991 to 1992, Mr. Walsh attended the International Center for French Studies (CIDEF) in Angers, France.

Mr. Walsh served his country in the United States Coast Guard, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Honorably discharged and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Mr. Walsh deployed to Kuwait from 2003 to 2004 as part of Port Security Unit 308. Mobilized in support of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike relief operations, Mr. Walsh is the recipient of the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, among other personal and unit awards. Still very actively involved in the field of Homeland Security, Mr. Walsh is an adjunct professor at Tulane University's Department of Homeland Security Studies, where he is a Faculty Fellow and a member of the Department's curriculum and admissions committees.
