Mr. Yellin is a defense counselor who represents insurers and concentrates on representing private and commercial carriers, including trucking companies, airlines, and trucking and aviation product manufacturers. Prior to practicing with Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles, Mr. Yellin was an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for the Eastern District of Louisiana, in charge of civil litigation on behalf of the United States and Federal Agencies. He was also an officer in the United States Army Transportation Corps.
Mr. Yellin represented Pan American World Airways and the United States Government in multi-district litigation of approximately 200 wrongful death, personal injury, psychic injury and property damage suits arising out of the crash of Pan Am Flight 759. He has prepared plans for rapid response to aviation and transportation crashes and catastrophes, and is a frequent publisher on transportation law. In addition to being counsel in numerous personal injury and wrongful death suits involving truck carriers, transportation-related companies, commercial and general aviation, helicopter incidents and crashes, and commercial flight hazards, Mr. Yellin has represented hotels, financial institutions, corporations, businessmen, doctors and a medical practice.
