DK&S Attorney Leads Live Oak Planting Project

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Frederic Theodore "Ted" Le Clercq, an employment and professional liability defense attorney with Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles' New Orleans office, is leading an effort to install 79 live oak trees on St. Charles Avenue from Jackson to Lee Circle. He conceived the project as a way to continue the long history of live oaks on the Avenue. Live oaks were first planted along St. Charles Avenue well over 100 years ago.
"Live oaks are a symbol of St. Charles Avenue and of our city," said Le Clercq. "They grace the Avenue with beauty, they cause a cooling effect during our many hot months, and they increase business by attracting people to the Avenue."
The City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways has approved this project, which is currently in the fundraising phase. Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles is proud to be donating administrative services and costs to the project, so individual donations can go directly to the cost of purchasing, planting and maintaining the trees. The firm's involvement with this project is an example of its commitment to the communities it serves, and particularly to its commitment to the recovery of the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

The Live Oak Project is accepting donations at all levels, and donors of $500 or more will receive special recognition on St. Charles Avenue.
