DK&S Attorneys Speaks on Land Use

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – Victor J. Franckiewicz, Jr.–an attorney with Deutsch, Kerrigan and Stiles' Gulfport, Mississippi, office–will be a presenter at two upcoming Land Use seminars presented by the National Business Institute.
On June 22, 2007, Franckiewicz will speak at the "Mastering Land Use and Planning Processes" seminar in New Orleans. Land use professionals must deal with laws that are complicated and which change frequently. This seminar will provide in-depth knowledge of land use transactions and developments. Franckiewicz will address an "Overview of Development and Land Use Law" as well as "Avoiding Surprises During The Planning Process."
Franckiewicz is a partner at Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles and actively practices in federal and state courts in Louisiana and Mississippi. His practice involves complex litigation, environmental matters, construction, zoning and land use, administrative law and insurance defense. He has had executive management experience in public works construction, zoning, environmental regulation, employment and labor matters, and economic development. He prepared Mississippi's coastal zone management program, drafted the enabling legislation, and wrote that state's wetlands permitting and waterfront industrial development regulations.
Franckiewicz will speak at a second Land Use seminar, titled "Land Use and Zoning Law Litigation," in New Orleans on September 6. His topics will be "The Power to Zone: Who Has It and Where Does It Come From" and "Ethics in Land Use Law: The Lawyer's Responsibility."
