DK&S Named "Go-To Law Firm" in Labor & Employment

New Orleans, LA – Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles has been named a "Go-To Law Firm" by Incisive Media, the publisher of Corporate Counsel Magazine, for its Labor & Employment work for Cameron International, a leading provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries. This honor is based on a survey of general counsel at top U.S. companies.
Howard L. Murphy is the partner who handles the bulk of Cameron's legal work at DK&S. Mr. Murphy has developed a broad practice in the areas of products liability, maritime law, casualty litigation, insurance coverage, building design and construction, and fiduciary liability litigation. He has represented oil companies, drilling contractors, fixed platform operators, vessel owners, service companies, and oil field equipment manufacturers. He has defended actions brought under the Jones Act, Section 905(b) of the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, the Death on the High Seas Act, the general maritime law, and state survival and wrongful death statutes. Furthermore, he has handled numerous contractual disputes concerning indemnification, additional insured status, and the application of anti-indemnity statutes.
Joanne P. Rinardo, a partner in the firm's labor & employment department, has also recently assisted with legal work for Cameron. Ms. Rinardo is experienced handling claims involving Title VII, age discrimination, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as general employment claims. She has also successfully defended numerous civil service appeals, and often speaks to businesses and other organizations on various areas of employment law.
John "Trey" Esnard has handled several actions brought against Cameron under ERISA, the Employee Retirement and Income Security Act. He is a partner in the firm, practicing in the areas of insurance coverage, products liability, transportation, construction, and maritime litigation. Mr. Esnard represents self-insured companies, corporations and insurance companies.
