DK&S Honored in InfoWorld's Top 100 I.T. Projects of 2009

New Orleans, LA – Deutsch, Kerrigan & Stiles has been recognized with an InfoWorld 100 Award for its post-Katrina infrastructure overhaul and disaster recovery preparation project. Each year the award recognizes the 100 most innovative uses of information technology initiatives to further business goals.
In the honored project, DK&S implemented Neverfail software to provide continuous availability to email and critical files for the law firm’s 140 employees in the event of an evacuation due to a hurricane or other disaster. In conjunction with thoroughly developed procedures across all departments, the firm is confident it will remain fully operational in the event of a forced evacuation.
“Like a fire drill, every year we test our entire IT infrastructure, which includes approximately 10 servers, to check that everything is connected and to remind us of the process. It is important to go through the planning process before a disaster strikes, because if you try to make decisions on the fly you will be in trouble,” said Don Champagne, director of administration for Deutsch Kerrigan & Stiles. “Hurricanes along the Gulf Coast and eastern seaboard are a fact of life and need to be taken seriously. We strongly encourage all companies in these regions to be ready because hurricanes will force you and your staff out on a moment’s notice.”
